Scarlett Medel dies in fatal Hesperia crash

Fatal Hesperia crash death of Scarlett Medel – Obituary

Scarlett Medel, 29, from Hesperia, tragically passed away on December 18, 2024, following a two-vehicle collision. The crash occurred at approximately 1:52 p.m. at the intersection of Cottonwood Avenue and El Centro Street. Medel was driving a black 2004 Honda Accord east on El Centro Street when she stopped at the stop sign before entering the intersection.

A silver 2008 Mazda 3, driven by a 62-year-old male from Hesperia, was traveling south on Cottonwood Avenue, where there was no stop sign.

When Medel proceeded into the intersection, her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by the Mazda in a broadside collision. Emergency responders transported Medel to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have confirmed that drugs, alcohol, and speed were not contributing factors in the crash. Medel was on her way to pick up her son from school when the tragic incident occurred.
