Fatal Chapman Highway collision claims the life of Benjiman Jones – Obituary
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified 46-year-old Benjiman Jones as the victim in a deadly head-on collision that occurred Monday evening on Chapman Highway near the intersection of Maples Road.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. when a GMC Sierra, traveling northbound, veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Honda Ridgeline. Jones, the driver of the Sierra, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the report, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Honda Ridgeline sustained injuries and was treated following the accident. Emergency response from the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department led to the temporary closure of southbound lanes on Chapman Highway.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
