Catalina Alvarado Lopez, 55, of Park City, tragically lost her life in an auto-pedestrian accident Thursday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. The incident occurred on Kearns Boulevard at the intersection of Cooke Drive, an area without a marked pedestrian crossing zone.
Alvarado Lopez, a longtime Park City resident, moved to the area over 20 years ago, drawn by its resemblance to her hometown in Mexico. She was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and is survived by her two children.
The driver involved in the collision remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities. The accident caused Kearns Boulevard to be closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation.
