Fatal discovery of Ilsy Vasquez Mendoza in Waco, Texas – Obituary
Authorities have confirmed the body found in an abandoned car near downtown Waco is that of 22-year-old Ilsy Vasquez Mendoza from Dover, Delaware. Mendoza had previously been reported missing in Delaware.
On Tuesday evening, Texas Department of Public Safety officers responded to a call about an abandoned vehicle in the Waco Transportation Department’s parking lot, near South 8th Street. Upon arriving, troopers discovered Mendoza’s body inside the vehicle.
A witness mentioned that the car had remained in the parking lot for several days before being noticed. Law enforcement officers initially struggled to access the vehicle, prompting the assistance of a tow truck from TowKing. Once the car was opened, Mendoza’s body was found inside.
The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding Mendoza’s death.
