The Lake County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a medical event led to a crash in Lake Zurich. Paul Anderson, 72, of Lake Zurich, was driving east on Pheasant Ridge Drive on Monday morning when his 2016 Chrysler 200 veered off the road. The vehicle struck several trees and then collided with a 2015 Hyundai Sonata.
Anderson was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, where he was pronounced dead. A passenger in the Chrysler was also taken to the hospital with injuries, while the 22-year-old driver of the Hyundai was unharmed. Authorities determined Anderson suffered a cardiac-related event that incapacitated him, leading to the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
