Fatal San Antonio shooting and truck fire death of Tomas Calavera Jr. – Obituary

Faith Paige Goynes, 40, has been charged with murder and arson in connection with the death of Tomas Calavera Jr., 30, whose body was discovered on Monday in a closet in a home in West Bexar County. Goynes is accused of shooting Calavera in the face before setting his truck on fire in Port O’Connor, Texas. Authorities were called to conduct a welfare check at a residence on Gunsight Pass after Calavera’s father could not locate his son. Deputies later found Calavera’s body with a gunshot wound. In a separate incident, Calavera’s vehicle was discovered engulfed in flames in Port O’Connor, and Goynes was seen near the scene with burn marks. She was apprehended after being found in a kayak and later confessed to the killing. Goynes is currently being held in Calhoun County.
