Grace Abbott, a 17-year-old from Princeville, tragically died Saturday afternoon after a one-vehicle crash in Peoria County.
According to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office, Abbott was driving westbound on Parks School Road when her car left the road and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:40 p.m. from multiple blunt-force trauma injuries.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Parks School Road and Elliott Road, about seven miles northeast of Brimfield. No other individuals were in the vehicle, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Toxicology results are pending. The community is mourning this loss, and condolences have been extended to her family.
