A tragic crash on Saturday, December 28, 2024, claimed the life of 36-year-old Javier Visbal Ortega of Piedmont. Ortega was driving a Ford Focus when a Toyota sedan rear-ended his vehicle on I-85 south near mile marker 5 in Simpsonville. The impact caused the Ford Focus to veer left and crash into a barrier.
