Fatal Travelers Rest shooting death of Joseph Dominic Mason – Obituary
Authorities have identified Joseph Dominic Mason as the individual who died in a deputy-involved shooting on Saturday night in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a suicidal person around 8 p.m. on Mountain Lake Lane. Upon arrival, deputies encountered an armed individual, leading to the officer-involved shooting. Mason was struck by gunfire and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. No deputies were injured during the incident. As per standard procedure, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating the shooting.
