Luke Walford, a 40-year-old youth pastor and school chaplain from Rockhampton, tragically lost his life in a shark attack while on holiday with his family on Saturday afternoon.

Walford was fishing at Humpy Island, part of the Keppel Bay Islands National Park, when a shark bit him on the neck around 4:30 p.m. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he succumbed to his injuries just before 6 p.m.
