Fatal Des Moines murder-suicide death of Salvador Carreon – Obituary
Des Moines police have confirmed the identities of a couple involved in a tragic murder-suicide that occurred on Christmas Day. Salvador Carreon, 60, is said to have shot and killed his wife, Leanne Carreon, 53, before taking his own life. This tragic incident unfolded at approximately 4:13 p.m. on Wednesday at a residence on the 2900 block of E. 40th Court. Authorities arrived to find Salvador deceased and Leanne critically injured. She succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital. The police are currently treating the event as the city’s 17th homicide of the year.
