Abraham Cantu, a 27-year-old man, tragically died in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, December 26, on Highway 290 near the Giles Lane exit ramp in Austin. The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m., and Cantu was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. This incident marks Austin’s 93rd fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 100 fatalities, highlighting a rise compared to the same period in 2023.
