Jarcoby Hopson Sr., a 35-year-old father of five and assistant football coach at Lake Cormorant High School in Mississippi, tragically lost his life following an altercation with a coworker at a Kroger distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. Thursday when a dispute erupted between Hopson Sr. and his coworker, Anderson Todd.
Witnesses reported that Hopson Sr. approached Todd, pulling his skull cap over his eyes after inviting him to fight in an area without cameras.
The situation escalated when the two began pushing and shoving, leading Todd to allegedly stab Hopson Sr. during the scuffle.
A witness intervened to separate the men, but Hopson Sr. succumbed to his injuries.
His death has devastated his family, including his oldest son, Jarnorris Hopson, who described him as a joyful and beloved presence. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic loss.
