Fatal Springfield, Kentucky shooting death of Kadesha Burch – Obituary

Kadesha Burch, 31, a mother of two, was tragically killed in a violent incident on December 27, 2024, in Springfield, Kentucky. The attack also left Frances Campbell, 52, seriously injured.

Authorities reported receiving a call at 12:20 a.m. about a man forcing his way into a residence on the 800 block of Claybrook Avenue and firing multiple shots. When officers arrived, they found Burch deceased and Campbell critically wounded.

The suspect, 23-year-old Roosevelt Davis III, was apprehended hours later in Shelby County, Kentucky. Police stopped his vehicle, which had a Wisconsin license plate, near the Simpsonville exit. Davis admitted to robbing a bank in Wisconsin to finance the purchase of firearms and camouflage before driving to the home with the intention of committing murder. He allegedly broke in by forcing open a side door and fired approximately ten rounds.

Burch had been in a troubled relationship with Davis, with prior reports of domestic violence, including an incident where she claimed he had strangled her. Following her death, loved ones shared emotional tributes online, describing her as a kind-hearted and irreplaceable friend.

A GoFundMe page has been created to assist with funeral expenses, raising over $7,000 so far. Davis is currently held on charges of murder, attempted murder, and burglary, with his bond set at $2 million.
