Milwaukee police are investigating a double homicide that occurred Monday near 38th and Nash streets, claiming the lives of 36-year-old Rodney Walls and 24-year-old Deontay Long, both residents of Milwaukee.
Authorities allege that Valentin Santana, 27, was responsible for the shootings and have charged him with two counts of first-degree reckless homicide and fleeing an officer.
Following the incident, Santana reportedly led police on a high-speed chase along Interstate 94, reaching speeds of over 105 mph and driving into oncoming traffic. The chase ended near 16th Street when Santana crashed his vehicle.
Santana is currently in custody with bail set at $300,000. The case remains under investigation.
