Theodore Becker and Linda Schneider die in separate fatal crashes in western North Dakota
Fatal western North Dakota crashes claim the lives of Theodore Becker and Linda Schneider – Obituary.
Two lives were tragically lost in separate vehicle accidents on Friday, December 27, in western North Dakota, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The first accident occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m., about five miles south of Hannover. Theodore Becker, 79, of Almont, was driving a 2021 Jeep Gladiator southbound on Highway 31 when the vehicle veered into the east ditch, struck a culvert, and became airborne. The Jeep landed on its driver’s side, and Becker, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 10 minutes later, another fatal crash occurred near Glen Ullin. Linda Schneider, 66, of Hebron, was driving south on County Road 88 in a 2025 Kia Sorento with three children as passengers. Distracted by a phone call, she lost control of the vehicle, which collided with a concrete bridge support. Schneider, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered severe injuries and was later pronounced dead at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.
The three children in the vehicle, a 12-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old boy, sustained injuries but were reported to be wearing seatbelts. They were transported to a hospital in Bismarck for treatment. Authorities have stated the children’s names will not be released.
Hannover is located approximately 49 miles northwest of Bismarck, while Glen Ullin lies around 54 miles west of the city. Both crashes remain under investigation.
