Haydon James Harrison, an 18-year-old from Nampa, Idaho, was killed in a tragic head-on collision with a semi-truck on December 20, 2024. The incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. on State Route 318 in Lincoln County, Nevada.
Preliminary reports from Nevada State Police indicate that Harrison was driving a 2012 black Chrysler 200 sedan in the wrong direction in the northbound lane. The driver of the Peterbilt semi-truck attempted to swerve to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful. The impact caused the semi-truck to overturn onto the dirt shoulder of the highway.
Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate the crash. This incident adds to the 76 fatal crashes resulting in 85 deaths recorded by Nevada State Police in 2024.
