Luis Rivera, a 29-year-old resident of New Britain, lost his life early Friday when his car collided with a utility pole on Allen Street. The crash occurred around 1 a.m. in the 100 block of the street, according to city spokesperson Rachel Zaniewski. Rivera, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the cause of the accident.
