Fatal Calgary homicide death of Ania Kaminski – Obituary

Ania Kaminski, aged 33, was discovered deceased on December 29 in the 300 block of Tuscany Ridge Heights N.W. The same evening, her father, Stanislaw Wardzala, was found dead at a location in the 0 to 100 block of Kincora Grove N.W.

Authorities suspect that Benedict Kaminski, Ania’s 38-year-old husband, was responsible for both killings. He was later found dead in northwest Calgary on Monday afternoon, hours after an emergency alert was issued warning of an armed and dangerous individual in the area.

Ania worked as an elementary school teacher for Rocky View Schools. A vigil has been arranged for Friday evening in the 300 block of Tuscany Ridge Heights from 9 to 10 p.m., providing an opportunity for loved ones and the community to honor her memory.

Described as a “beautiful soul,” the organizer of the vigil highlighted the tragedy of her life being taken too soon.

In addition, a GoFundMe campaign initiated by a family friend has garnered over $247,000 to support the couple’s three children.
