Fatal Calhoun County car crash death of Cathy L. Stants – Obituary
A tragic single-vehicle accident in Calhoun County claimed the life of Cathy L. Stants, 53, of Piedmont, Alabama, on Tuesday night.
Authorities from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported that the crash happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. on U.S. 278 near mile marker 151, roughly four miles west of Piedmont. Stants was driving a GMC Envoy when it veered off the road, hitting an embankment and several trees.
Sadly, Stants was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing their investigation into the crash.
