Fatal Parkersburg car crash death of Hunter Lee Walker – Obituary.

A tragic accident occurred on New Year’s Eve in Parkersburg, West Virginia, resulting in the death of 23-year-old Hunter Lee Walker. The single-vehicle crash happened on the entrance ramp leading to westbound Route 50 from the Juliana Street Bridge at approximately 12:12 p.m.

 

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Walker was driving a 1996 Ford Ranger when the vehicle veered off the roadway while navigating the curve of the ramp. The truck struck a guardrail, re-entered the road, and collided with the guardrail again. This second impact caused the vehicle to become airborne, flipping over the guardrail before landing on its roof down a hillside.

 

Walker was ejected from the truck during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials on-site conducted an extensive investigation that included witness interviews and a detailed analysis of the vehicle’s movements leading up to the incident.

 

Responding agencies included the Parkersburg Police and Fire Departments, Camden Clark Ambulance Service, the West Virginia Department of Highways, the Wood County Coroner’s Office, and Pifer’s Towing and Recovery.

 

Hunter Lee Walker’s untimely death serves as a somber reminder of the dangers of road travel, especially during the holiday season.
