James Ashley dies in fatal Effingham car crash

Fatal Effingham car crash death of James Ashley – Obituary

A tragic car accident occurred in Effingham early on the morning of December 28, claiming the life of 41-year-old James Ashley of Effingham. According to Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes, emergency responders from both Effingham Police and Illinois State Police were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of South Banker Street and Jaycee Avenue around 6:30 a.m.

 

Ashley was driving a Dodge Durango southbound on Banker Street when he crossed over the solid yellow center line, colliding head-on with a GMC pickup truck that was towing a camper. The truck was driven by 64-year-old Scott Mosher, with his wife, 61-year-old Kathy Mosher, seated beside him.

 

Ashley was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was sadly declared deceased at 7:15 a.m. Scott and Kathy Mosher, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, were also transported to the hospital.
