Fatal Sherman crash death of River Rhoades, 8 – Obituary
An 8-year-old girl named River Rhoades from Lynchburg, Missouri, lost her life in a tragic collision involving two semi trucks and a passenger vehicle on Thursday evening near Sherman, Texas. The crash occurred on westbound US-82 close to Bethany Road just before sunset.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Robert Rhoades, 47, also of Lynchburg, was driving a westbound semi when he collided with another semi traveling in the same direction. River, who was a passenger in Robert Rhoades’ truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robert Rhoades was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other semi truck was unharmed. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
