Fatal Little Rock shooting death of Aaliyah Morton – Obituary
The Little Rock Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on New Year’s Day, which resulted in one fatality and two injuries.
Around 12:35 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at 8 Olympia Court and discovered 18-year-old Aaliyah Morton and 49-year-old Albert Betts suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. Tragically, a male minor also suffered fatal injuries but has not yet been identified.
Another person at the scene, 18-year-old Yadhira Lopez, was unharmed. Police have named 18-year-old Nicholas Wofford as a person of interest in the case. He was questioned and released as the investigation continues.
