Fatal Chesterfield shooting death of Andrew Giles – Obituary
On January 1, 2025, Andrew Giles, 19, of Richmond, was found dead from gunshot wounds inside a car that had crashed into a home on Broadwater Way.
Police were initially called to the scene for a reported car crash early in the morning. Upon arrival, they discovered Giles’ body inside the vehicle.
Following the investigation, detectives identified 26-year-old Nekyi Cherry, also of Richmond, as the suspect. Cherry was arrested on January 2 in Henrico County with help from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Fugitive Task Force.
He faces charges of second-degree murder and shooting in a public place. The case remains under investigation.
