Fatal Omaha shooting death of Brandon Brewer – Obituary
Brandon Brewer, a 39-year-old man, was involved in a fatal encounter with Omaha police on Friday morning after a reported shooting at an apartment complex.
Officers were called to the scene near 71st Street and Jones Circle around 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they spotted Brewer, who matched the suspect description, walking away from the complex. Brewer then fired twice at officers, hitting a cruiser.
A foot pursuit ensued, during which police discharged their weapons, though they did not hit Brewer. He eventually surrendered and was taken into custody. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
