Elizabeth Kennedy, 70, was struck by a vehicle on Barrhead Road in Paisley, Renfrewshire, around 7 pm on December 31.
Police are actively searching for a white car suspected to have been involved in the collision, which reportedly sustained damage during the incident. The crash took place just east of the intersection with Ladykirk Crescent.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the exact details of the accident and locate the vehicle.
Detective Inspector Jan MacColl expressed condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with Elizabeth’s loved ones and everyone impacted by this tragic event. Officers remain committed to supporting her family during this difficult time.”
He also urged anyone who witnessed the incident or spotted a white car in the area around the time of the crash, particularly if it showed signs of damage, to come forward. Additionally, anyone with dashcam footage that could aid the investigation is encouraged to contact the police.
