The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death of 41-year-old James Junior Holder following a police shooting early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on McCutcheon Road during a traffic stop conducted by deputies.
Reports suggest that during the encounter, Holder allegedly brandished what appeared to be a weapon. Deputies then fired their service weapons, striking Holder, who was later transported to a hospital and pronounced deceased.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No officers were reported injured during the event.
