Fatal San Antonio shooting death of Jason Huizar – Obituary
On New Year’s Day, San Antonio’s first homicide of 2025 occurred when 32-year-old Jason Huizar was fatally shot in Paso Chico Alley.
Police responded to the scene, near Frio City Road and Brazos Street, around 3 p.m. on January 1st, finding Huizar with gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after the shooting.
A witness, who knew Huizar personally, described the incident as stemming from a heated argument between Huizar and another man. The dispute reportedly escalated when Huizar said something that upset the other person, leading to a fatal shot to the chest.
Police have identified a suspect based on witness descriptions, and although the suspect was detained on an unrelated warrant, no charges have been filed regarding the shooting as of Thursday morning. The investigation is ongoing.
