Fatal Kalihi fireworks blast death of Jayson Ramos – Obituary
Jayson Ramos, a 20-year-old man, tragically passed away after sustaining severe injuries from a fireworks blast on New Year’s Eve in Kalihi. Emergency crews arrived at a residence on Lukela Lane shortly after 11 p.m.
Tuesday and found Ramos with multiple traumatic injuries, including a severe arm injury. Despite receiving advanced life support and being transported to the hospital in critical condition, Ramos was pronounced dead the following afternoon.
The Honolulu medical examiner confirmed that his death was caused by blast injuries to his head and right hand, ruling the incident as accidental. Ramos’ passing has left his community in shock and grief.
