Houston police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on December 31, 2024, at around 10:30 a.m. in the Meadowbrook/Allendale area.
The victim, identified as 48-year-old Joel Fraustro, was a passenger in a Lexus LS-430 that collided with a Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of Neal Street and Glenview Drive.
According to the Houston Police Department, the Lexus was speeding northbound on Neal Street when it ran a stop sign and struck the Silverado, causing it to spin and stop in a front yard. The Lexus continued spinning, hitting a house before coming to a halt. Fraustro was transported to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Lexus fled the scene but was later apprehended and booked on unrelated charges. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
