Fatal Fairfield pedestrian accident death of Mark Michaud – Obituary
Mark Michaud, a 49-year-old resident of Fairfield, lost his life early Friday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer while attempting to cross an Interstate 95 off-ramp at Exit 132 in Fairfield.
Dispatchers received a report at approximately 3:37 a.m. about the incident. Upon arrival, state police determined that Michaud had been hit by a tractor-trailer driven by a 19-year-old from Milford while crossing the off-ramp.
The exit ramp was temporarily closed as investigators, including the accident reconstruction team and the commercial motor vehicle unit, worked at the scene. The ramp has since reopened, but the investigation remains ongoing. Michaud’s death has deeply saddened the Fairfield community.
