Fatal Dodge County crash death of Scarlett Tanner – Obituary
A tragic accident on December 30, 2024, claimed the life of 32-year-old Scarlett Tanner of West Concord. The crash occurred around 7:46 a.m. on Dodge County Road 24, east of 120th Avenue, when Tanner’s 2019 Toyota Highlander collided head-on with a 2017 Ford Expedition driven by 40-year-old Elizabeth Albers of Owatonna.
Following the collision, both vehicles caught fire, and Tanner, along with a passerby, Erin Irene Brose, was standing outside her vehicle when a pickup truck, driven by 47-year-old Ryan Thoe, veered off the road to avoid the scene, striking both Tanner and Brose.
Tanner was pronounced dead at the scene, while Brose sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Albers also suffered minor injuries.
Authorities cited foggy and icy conditions as contributing factors to the crash, emphasizing the importance of wearing seatbelts and driving cautiously in such weather. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
