Sydney Howells, a 21-year-old motorcyclist, tragically lost her life in a collision involving a Subaru on Thursday evening in northern El Paso County. The Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Baptist Road and Leather Chaps Drive, just outside Monument.
According to authorities, Howells was riding her motorcycle eastbound on West Baptist Road when a Subaru, traveling in the opposite direction, attempted a left turn onto Leather Chaps Drive, resulting in a collision at the intersection.
Howells was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time. Her passing has deeply affected the local community, who remember her as a young life taken too soon.
