Zamias Lang, a 7-year-old boy, tragically lost his life after a shooting incident at the trailer where he was sleeping on December 11, 2024, just outside Cortez, Colorado.
The young boy, described by his family as a beacon of light and love, was hit by gunfire while resting beside his father. The suspect, identified as Jeremiah Hight, fired 24 shots at the trailer, and Lang was one of the victims.
Authorities apprehended Hight in Utah in late December. The motive remains unclear, though it was suggested that Hight had previously mentioned targeting Zamias’ father’s home.
Following the arrest, Hight faces charges, including second-degree murder. Zamias’ family, devastated by the loss, vows to seek justice for the boy they called the “glue” of their family.
