Fatal Crook County two-vehicle crash deaths of Shawn Solar and Garrett Dennis – Obituary

A deadly crash in Crook County on Monday night claimed the lives of Shawn Solar and Garrett Dennis, both residents of Prineville. The collision occurred at approximately 4:31 p.m. on Juniper Canyon Road near Paulina Highway, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found both vehicles blocking the roadway, with one fully engulfed in flames and the other burning in the engine compartment. Investigators determined that a 1999 Ford F250, traveling northbound on Juniper Canyon Road, had crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound 2016 Ford Edge.

Solar and Dennis, who were passengers in the Ford Edge, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers survived the crash and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Juniper Canyon Road remained closed for six hours as investigators processed the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
