On January 3, 2025, George Estrada Tellez, a 63-year-old resident of Costa Mesa, tragically lost his life after being struck by multiple vehicles in Santa Ana. The incident occurred at approximately 5:57 p.m. near the intersection of 1st Street and Center Street, prompting an immediate response from the Santa Ana Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders found that George had been hit by two cars while walking in the eastbound lanes of 1st Street. After receiving initial medical attention on-site, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries despite efforts to save him.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the drivers involved remained at the location and cooperated fully with authorities. No signs of impairment from alcohol or drugs were observed.
