A tragic incident claimed the life of 65-year-old Israel Garcia on Thursday morning in Edinburg. The collision occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. along the 600 block of North Jackson Road, according to a city spokesperson.
Police officers arrived at the scene to find that Garcia, a local resident, had been hit by a Ford Explorer. Emergency responders administered immediate medical aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver, a woman operating the Ford Explorer, stayed at the site of the accident and is assisting police with their investigation. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation remains active.
