Joshua Gilson, 43, and his wife Christina tragically lost their lives in a crash caused by drowsy driving on New Year’s Day.
The crash occurred on U.S. 36 near Lefthand Canyon Drive in Boulder County when Gilson reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to cross the median and roll over. Two children in the back seat survived the crash.
Authorities have issued warnings about the increasing problem of fatigued driving, with a 43% rise in fatigue-related crashes from 2023 to 2024 in Colorado.
