Fatal West Palm Beach pedestrian crash death of Melissa Nichole Carlene – Obituary
Melissa Nichole Carlene, a 25-year-old resident of West Palm Beach, tragically lost her life in a pedestrian accident early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. when a 2021 Tesla 3, driven by a 26-year-old man from West Palm Beach, struck Carlene and her companion, Roberto Sanchez Jr., 33, as they were crossing Banyan Boulevard near Rosemary Avenue.
Both Carlene and Sanchez were in the crosswalk when the collision happened. However, according to Traffic Homicide detectives, the Tesla had a green light at the time.
Paramedics transported Carlene and Sanchez to St. Mary’s Trauma Center, where Carlene was pronounced dead. Sanchez sustained injuries but survived the crash.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
