Fatal Kansas City river death of Amanda Switzer – Obituary
The body of 42-year-old Amanda Switzer was discovered in the Missouri River near the Bond Bridge in Kansas City on Saturday night, prompting an investigation into her death.
Police had reported her missing earlier that afternoon, after she was last seen around 3:30 p.m., without her vehicle or phone, in the vicinity of the bridge.
The Kansas City Fire Department responded to the scene and launched a search, including drone and boat operations.
After an hour and a half, the woman’s body was located about half a mile from the bridge.
Following standard cold water drowning protocols, she was transported to North Kansas City Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
