The Allen County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that 48-year-old Anthony Paul Wamue is the victim of a fatal stabbing at Promenade Park in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. The incident occurred Saturday night, marking the first homicide of the year in Allen County.
Fort Wayne Police Department officers were dispatched to the park just after 9 p.m. upon receiving reports of an unconscious individual inside the bathroom. Upon arrival, they found Wamue suffering from stab wounds to his torso. Despite attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The homicide investigation is ongoing, and CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest in Wamue’s case. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact the anonymous tip line.
