Fatal Cherokee County car crash death of Charity Hope Smith – Obituary

Charity Hope Smith, a 46-year-old North Carolina resident, was tragically killed in a head-on collision on Saturday night in Cherokee County, South Carolina. The crash occurred at approximately 7:36 p.m. on Highway 5 near Blacksburg.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers, the fatal incident happened when a Chevrolet sedan driven by Smith crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound International 18-wheeler truck. Smith, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to a hospital for treatment. His condition has not been disclosed.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash.
