Police have identified 20-year-old Jalea Turner as the victim of a deadly shooting in Erie on January 1.
The shooting occurred around 12:37 a.m. in the 900 block of West 19th Street, where Turner and a 22-year-old man, who was also injured, were believed to be leaving a house party when they were shot. Turner was found at the scene and later died from a gunshot wound to the head. The man was treated for a leg injury at a local hospital.
Police are investigating the case, which has been classified as a homicide, and are reviewing evidence and surveillance footage. No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
