Boston police have confirmed the identity of the man who was fatally shot in a Charlestown parking lot on Saturday night as 46-year-old Joseph Donahue, a Boston resident.
Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit at 140 Main Street around 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Donahue with gunshot wounds on the ground in a parking lot. Despite efforts to assist, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Sunday, police arrested 45-year-old David Menezes of Charlestown in connection with the homicide. He was taken into custody at a residence in Roxbury and is expected to face a murder charge in court.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, urging anyone with information to contact Boston police.
