A fatal accident occurred late Monday night, December 9, 2024, when 33-year-old Joshua Robert Berry was struck and killed by a suspected intoxicated driver near Canby Road and Pineland Drive in Shasta County.
Police reports indicate that the driver, a 40-year-old man from the area, was under the influence at the time of the crash.
Berry, who suffered severe injuries, was immediately rushed to Mercy Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead by emergency personnel at approximately 2 a.m. on December 10.
The incident is still under investigation by the Redding Police Department and the Shasta County Coroner’s Office.
