Fatal New Orleans shootings death of Percy Baytop and Kayron Hall – Obituary
Two victims, 41-year-old Percy Baytop and 19-year-old Kayron Hall, were fatally shot in separate incidents on New Year’s Day in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office released their identities on Monday.
The first shooting occurred around 2 a.m. near the 600 block of Convention Center Boulevard. Police found Baytop outside his red Toyota Camry in the Caesar’s Casino garage with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later arrested 53-year-old Sean Black, who is suspected of being involved in the killing.
Later that evening, at approximately 6:55 p.m., officers responded to another call at the 8500 block of North I-10 Service Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Kayron Hall, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details have been released regarding the incidents. Investigations are ongoing.
