Fatal Michigan drowning death of Robert Loren Bacon – Obituary
Robert Loren Bacon, a 52-year-old father of two, was found dead in the Cass River near Frankenmuth, Michigan, on Saturday afternoon, after disappearing during a family vacation.
Bacon had arrived at the Bavarian Inn resort on December 27 to meet his daughters, ages 15 and 13.
After checking into the hotel and bringing his belongings to his room, he told his daughters he needed to grab something from his car, but never returned. When he failed to show up, his family reported him missing on December 30.
Despite extensive search efforts, including drone and dive teams, Bacon’s body was recovered around 2 p.m. the following Saturday. Authorities believe the cause of death was drowning, though the investigation continues.
