Fatal Stockton chase crash deaths of Alejo Ruben Elias Jr. and Darren Hickerson – Obituary
Alejo Ruben Elias Jr., 28, and Darren Hickerson, 61, both of Stockton, were among three victims who lost their lives in a high-speed chase that ended in a fatal crash early Sunday.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reported that the chase began around 1:40 a.m. after deputies attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near Wilson Way and Harding Way.
Elias, the driver of the suspected stolen car, fled from deputies, leading to a pursuit that ended when his vehicle collided with another car at the intersection of Airport Way and Hazleton Avenue. Hickerson, a passenger in the car struck by Elias, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have yet to identify the third victim, while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
