Fatal Sampson County car crash death of Daniel Vasquez Gonzales – Obituary
Daniel Vasquez Gonzales, a 17-year-old from Dunn, North Carolina, tragically lost his life in a fatal traffic accident on Sunday night, January 5, 2025. The crash occurred near Clinton, on Reedsford Road, at around 10:02 p.m. when a 2013 Hyundai, driven by 22-year-old Angel Moises Bonilla Garcia, veered off the road. The vehicle collided with a mailbox and struck two trees before coming to a stop partially on the road.
Both Garcia and Gonzales were killed instantly in the crash. Garcia, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was ejected from the vehicle, while Gonzales, who was properly restrained, died at the scene as well. Authorities stated that speeding and reckless driving played a significant role in the tragic incident.
The accident remains under investigation as law enforcement continues to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
